The book does not fall clearly within any genre, but comes close to speculative fiction and a unique blend of Tom Robbins, Barbara Kingsolver, and Albert Camus. Through the protagonist, Krauss explores the paradoxes of memory, love, and the self. This is a beautifully written, inspiring, and bittersweet novel that I hope is followed by many more.
