Partnership Opportunity Planner
VISIT CALIFORNIA
Objective
A COMPLETE REDESIGN OF A 4.5″x11″ 16-PANEL MAP FOLD, WHICH WAS BULKY, DIFFICULT TO READ, AND HARD TO FOLD BACK, MAKING NAVIGATION AND USABILITY FRUSTRATING.
Optimized for readability
The Problem: The Visit California Partnership Opportunity Planner required a complete overhaul to improve usability and information density. The goal was to transform a sprawling 32-panel format into a more professional, accessible 20-page booklet without losing critical travel trade information.
The Objective: I aimed to streamline the layout to increase engagement while improving scanability. The redesign needed to present complex multi-year calendars and international event schedules in a format that was both highly detailed and easy to navigate.
The Execution: I introduced a 4-panel accordion fold for a comprehensive 3-year Travel Trade calendar. Organizing by country rather than a grid and using color-coded activity bars, I prioritized quick interpretation over dense text.
The Outcome: The final program achieved greater clarity and readability within a reduced footprint. Despite the smaller page count, the redesigned organization allowed for more granular detail, making it a more efficient tool for partners and stakeholders.
Unwieldy original program design
